We're all about feeling "on purpose" in life.
Flow is good. Clunky is bad.
We tend to beat ourselves up when we're not walking the talk of our NVR life. I mean, come on, if we're not living as authentically as possible, how can we have any credibility when it comes to persuading other people to do the same.
We're usually humming along pretty decently, but – as you know from some of our stories over the last couple of years – we also come up against some pretty big road blocks in our quest to live a 100% us-driven, freedom-centric life. Most notably, things can tend to start spinning bit too fast. And, well, too much of a good thing can be just that – too much of a good thing.
With our core business buzzing along nicely and our #PictureMaui Expedia Viewfinder Summit behind us, everything is coming together nicely in 2015. We're ready to roll into the next phase of the year.
Here's what's up:
1) I'm writing this in our Washington DC hotel room. Each year, it seems that at least a slice of our advocacy work brings us here. 2015 is no different. We're here to support #MarriageEquality, as the Supreme Court prepares to consider federalizing same sex marriage. It's an important part of our nation's history, and – as part of the global LGBT family – we didn't want to miss it.
2) Fittingly given #1 – and thanks to some great clients in the travel writing side of our world – we've grounded our upcoming travel in LGBT-centric initiatives and events. It's too much to get into in this post, but stay tuned as details unfold.
3) Finally, we've selected our Charity of Choice for 2015. Our primary mission here at NVR is to increase the number of fulfilled people in the world. Given all the LGBT goodness we have swirling around us right now, we knew it was time to make one of our favorite organizations, the ACLU, our focal point for the year ahead.
We'll leave you with that for now. Believe it or not, most of this just got cemented. Like, within the last 4 days. We're still letting it all sink in.
Just know that we're feeling even more "on purpose" than usual.
We hope things feel the same in your world.
