Resting at the Intersection of Technology and Mindfulness

NVR Guys

Every year, we travel to San Francisco to attend Wisdom 2.0 – a powerful technology conference that explores ways to leverage technology to increase mindfulness and drive positive change. Because the conference uniquely aligns with the multiple facets of our life, from the No Vacation Required way we move through the world to the consulting work we do empowering individuals, workgroups, and organizations, it is something we look forward to all year.

After three days of leaning into our passion, surrounding ourselves with inspiring people, and having our minds expanded, we were more than ready for some time to reflect and metabolize our experience. What better place to relax, reflect, and strategize a plan for how we would put into practice everything we’d learned than by spending some time on the secluded island-paradise of Lanai’i.

Surprisingly, our visit to the Four Seasons Lanai’i at Manele Bay provided a perfect opportunity to explore the relationship between mindfulness and tech. The resort has recently introduced some really cutting-edge in-room and resort wide technology that made a big impact on us, which is saying a lot for two guys who have pretty much seen it all when it comes to hotels.

Speaking of new-fangled tech... We are always evaluating new technologies to see if they simplify and add genuine value to our lives. Since we are Microsoft Brand Champions, we thought we'd try out Microsoft’s new digital storytelling tool to see if it made it easier for us to share our experiences. Let us know what you think of the results.
