Last week, we talked about some of our travel in September as an example of how we plan and frame the way we move about our lives.
October is typically the month during which we really try to cement what the year ahead will look like. It's the time of the year when we talk about the kind of opportunities that we want to pursue (and cultivate) in the months ahead.
Very few things in our NVR world are poorly thought out. We let a lot of details unfold as they may, but we try to keep our overall structure and direction quite deliberate. We want to be in charge of our world and our actions, not the other way around. In a wonderful twist, the more you operate with that mindset, the more spontaneous and unplanned surprises that will pop up to fill the gaps.
Some questions for you to consider:
1. What's your take on opportunity?
2. What stake do you feel like you have in cultivating the things that come into your life?
2. When opportunities arise, are you in a position to seize them?
Many people throw "you're so lucky!" our way. We have a great No Vacation Required life, but luck has nothing to do with a majority of it. Conversely, we've created a framework that enables and propels the kind of opportunities we want to see coming our way.
We, like everyone else, experience lots of bumps along the road, but we derive a lot of satisfaction and fulfillment from our overall trajectory. It's so worth it – despite the work, despite the setbacks, to pursue an "on purpose" life.
The year ahead will be our most exciting one yet.
We want the same for you. Do your part to seize it!
