We recently wrote a blurb about change and have been giving the topic a lot of thought, as it will soon be the basis of a speaking gig we've accepted.
We were asked to speak about the one thing that – through our work – have found holds people and workgroups back.
Without a doubt it's change.
In that post a couple of weeks ago, we asked readers to ponder their last few brushes with change and to examine how it felt.
Some people are open to change but have no idea how to map it out. That stops them cold.
Other people, many actually, are completely paralyzed at the thought of change. These people do not have the tools for change, nor are they open to change.
Change is constant. By not accepting it, you are actively working against the flow of life.
The next time you feel a bit of discomfort creep in at the thought of change, write down 1) how it makes you feel (physically and mentally) and 2) the main reason why you believe the change is overwhelming to you.
