Having enjoyed Milan for a few days, we're now living like locals in the Piedmont region of Italy. It feels great. Local travel – deep local travel – is something we've been talking about a lot lately. We've been delving into our slice of the world, the Pacific Northwest, and realizing just how much there is to uncover when you dig into a region.
In a quest to "travel local" more where ever we are, we're going to really lean into it. Here, in Italy, we're staying in a pretty remote area in a region that's known for wine and food.
Here are some pictures from one of our daily runs. As you can see the area lives up to any mental picture of Italy that you can conjure up in your mind – rolling hills, vineyards, historic towns.
And this is what we get to come back to after every run. We're staying in a gorgeous villa.
As you can see, we can't take our eyes off of our immediate surroundings either. More on that later.
