National Parks were a big part of the motivation behind planning this segment of our current adventure – the Pacific Coast road trip. As National Park maniacs, it was becoming – with each passing year – more and more unacceptable that we hadn't yet made it to Yosemite. That's as bad as being a gambler who hasn't been to Las Vegas. So, over the past several days, we've hit both Yosemite and Sequoia. Our love for the National Parks has moved to an all new high, and we're stoked that we made this NP-centric road trip a part of big adventure. Yosemite makes a "wow" impression the likes of which we have rarely experienced before. Equally (if not more) captivating, Sequoia draws you in with its superlative setting and those majestic namesake trees.
Here are a few of our favorite shots from both National Parks.
Unfortunately, the future of our National Parks is on shaky ground. Even before the sequester, funding was an issue. Now, hours and all sorts of services are being cut. We felt the pinch in both Yosemite and Sequoia.
If you have an extra buck or two, consider contributing to the National Park Foundation – it's the official charity of the NP network. We, like many others, believe that America's National Parks were our best idea. Let's keep them stunning for generations and generations to enjoy.
