We made it to our destination (after getting yesterday's credit card nightmare all ironed out). The drive over Vancouver Island was breathtaking; it was scenic nearly the entire way, with snow covered trees lining the road. When we made it to the west side, though, the WOW factor tripled - just incredible, rugged beauty.
We're staying at the sort of place - right on the water - where you have to wonder why nothing was here before. Did they just start to allow building - yikes! Even before going to our room, we wandered around the area. The hotel is shrouded in trees and is ON a trail that follows the Pacific. Our room has this incredible view of both forest and the ocean. Not bad at all.
