We've talked plenty about the importance of a news diet. Working from home, though, it's nearly impossible to keep from popping over to a news website for a peek at what's happening in the world. That habit lends itself to doing the same while sitting in front of the television. Way too often, we see 90 seconds of every news station multiple times each evening. The big problem is that most news is junk. This morning I had a huge realization when one of the news websites was talking about the amenities at the hotel where the Obamas are staying prior to the inauguration. "Bose CD music systems with assorted CDs, exclusive Etro toiletries, complimentary Fiji bottled water and a nightly turndown service." Is this news - and why am I reading it.
