For the last couple of days, in particular, we have been reviewing everything that’s happened as we’ve travelled across the United States over the last few weeks. This adventure has seemed like months worth of memories in just a short period of time. In the tent this morning, we recapped a lot of it. Some highlights:
-The power of the Memorials/Monuments in DC.
-The manner in which the South caught our attention.
-The small, small feeling of being in a Ford Focus for 3500 + miles.
-The food (of course!) - especially the BBQ.
-The 100% laughable shit-fit Kent had in New Orleans.
-The warm feeling of connecting with family/friends.
-The shock of Caanan’s road-rage before we even left the Hertz parking lot in Florida (it got better).
-The rare opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of so many people.
Today we take off from the Grand Canyon to hang out in Phoenix/Scottsdale for a couple of days before heading home to Seattle. We’ll always remember traveling across America - seeing the beauty of our country, marveling at it’s diversity and learning about it’s history. We discovered a lot, and - along the way - we also found ourselves... Just kidding about that last part. Even WE can’t be that sentimental.
